Packaging approval should control product identity, brand artwork, required marks and warnings, languages, accessories, barcodes, carton configuration and revision history before printing.
Artwork review checklist
Identity
Brand, product name, model, color/configuration, responsible party and country-of-origin wording where applicable.
Regulatory content
Only marks, identifiers, warnings and disposal/battery information supported for the selected market and model.
Logistics
Barcode, quantities, dimensions/weights, carton marks, accessories and packing method.
Revision control
Use a unique artwork filename/revision, dated approval, approver, color references and a list of changed elements. Link the approved artwork to the exact model and production order.
What should the approval packet contain?
Keep the final artwork PDF, dieline revision, model and brand naming, barcode data, accessory list, manual revision, carton marks and destination-language files in one controlled packet. Record the approver, approval date and any open deviation instead of relying on an email attachment with no revision history.
When should artwork be reopened?
Recheck the packet after a model name, legal entity, importer detail, radio or battery configuration, accessory, warning, language, packaging material or carton quantity changes. The approval record should identify which files were replaced and whether a new sample or document review is required.
