Test method

Bluetooth Range and Reconnection Verification

Separate controlled range measurements from real-environment performance.

Direct answer

A Bluetooth range result must state the source device, implemented radio/firmware, codec/profile, orientation, environment, obstacles, interference, success criterion and test path. Line-of-sight and indoor results are not interchangeable.

Two separate scenarios

Line of sight

Open path with documented orientation, height and interference. Useful for controlled comparison, not an indoor promise.

Indoor path

Document walls, materials, doors, people, nearby networks and source-device location.

Reconnect behavior

Record disconnection, recovery, pairing memory, time to reconnect and user action.

Success criterion

Define what counts as success: continuous playback, permitted dropouts, control response, call behavior or another application-specific requirement. Record the first failure and repeat the path in both directions where relevant.

Evidence boundary: This page provides a decision framework, not a statement that a selected product has passed a test or holds a certificate. Confirm model-specific specifications, reports, samples and commercial terms in current written documents.
